Welcome Ellen Maat – New member Economic Board The Hague

27th October 2022

Ellen Maat joins the Economic Board The Hague. Since this year she has been chairman of the board of directors at Florence.

‘I have been working in the healthcare sector my entire career. Since 4 years as a director of Florence, a large (elderly) care organization in the Haaglanden region. Twenty thousand residents of the Haaglanden region count on the care professionals of Florence every day. Our 3,300 employees and more than 1,100 volunteers help all these people to continue to live the life they love as much as possible. Good and accessible health care is an important condition for the economic development of the city, and at the same time the health care sector is also an important part of that economy. I would like to contribute to the Board from that perspective. With a heart for the city, where I have lived for over 25 years.’

Previously, Ellen was director of strategy, quality & innovation at the Amsterdam care organization Cordaan. Before that she worked as a consultant at a consultancy company. There she was engaged in administrative and strategic advice in the healthcare sector. Before that, Ellen worked for 14 years at the Ministry of Health, Welfare and Sport (VWS), including as director of the Health Care Innovation & EPD Organization Program.
