Economic Board The Hague congratulates the newly appointed Mayor and Aldermen of The Hague on the start of their new term in office. The Board looks forward to working closely with the new Municipal Executive and welcomes the coalition agreement as a strong foundation for the city’s future economic development.
In particular, the Board welcomes the prominent position of the economy on the municipal agenda. It also supports the ambition to further strengthen The Hague’s position as the international city of Peace, Justice & Security and as a leading international cybersecurity hub.
The coalition agreement’s commitment to investing in strategic initiatives – including the International Zone, The Hague Security Delta, the House of Cyber and the World Forum – aligns closely with the Board’s long-term ambitions. Economic Board The Hague also welcomes the focus on improving the city’s accessibility through the implementation of the Network Strategy, investments across multiple transport modalities and the continued development of international rail connections.
In addition, the Board values the continuation of the National Programme The Hague South West, recognising its important contribution to inclusive economic growth and the long-term prosperity of the city.
A strong economy depends on a city that is well connected, attractive and internationally competitive. Together with its partners from government, business and knowledge institutions, Economic Board The Hague looks forward to contributing to these shared ambitions in the years ahead.
